Meet HRM Oba Professor Aderibigbe Olomola, a distinguished leader and visionary in the realm of sustainable development and the blue economy. Hailing from the Ilaje coastal zone of Ondo State, Nigeria, Professor Olomola has dedicated over 40 years to pioneering research and development in capture fisheries, aquaculture, industrial fisheries, and fishery resource management. His groundbreaking work has significantly influenced policy actions and has been featured in esteemed international journals such as Fishery Research and the Journal of West African Fisheries.
A highly respected Agricultural Economist, Professor Olomola was ranked in the top 2% of scholars on Academia.edu in 2016. His illustrious academic journey began at the Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic Research (NISER) in 1985, where he rose to the rank of Professor by 2001. He has imparted his knowledge on Agricultural Policy and Development Planning at the United Nations Institute for Development and Economic Planning (UNIDEP) in Dakar, Senegal, from 2010 to 2021.
Professor Olomola's expertise has been sought after by numerous international organizations, including The World Bank, UNDP, FAO, and the Gates Foundation. His contributions have been pivotal in shaping Nigeria’s Agricultural Transformation Agenda and the Vision 20:2020 Blueprint. As a Senior Economist and Consultant for the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), he played a crucial role in strengthening Nigeria’s agricultural policies.

He has served as Chair of the Scientific Committee for the Agricultural Policy Research Network for West and Central Africa and as an Academic Adviser to the International Foundation for Science (IFS) in Sweden. Dr. Godwin O. Orkeh Jr., a distinguished member of the Board of Directors at WABEA. With a wealth of experience as a healthcare administrator, public health officer, and quality improvement officer, Dr. Orkeh is a visionary leader with a deep commitment to international health and development.
Dr. Orkeh has dedicated his career to disaster relief and humanitarian assistance across the Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and Latin America. His work focuses on public health assessments in humanitarian crises, including natural disasters, conflicts, and population displacements. He plays a pivotal role in disaster preparedness and health system development.
As a Public Health Officer, Dr. Orkeh has been the face of various organizations, shaping public health policy and community health planning. He collaborates with state and federal agencies, emergency management professionals, and community organizations to set public health priorities and enhance emergency services.
A fellow of the International Human Rights Consortium, Dr. Orkeh has traveled extensively in Central America, researching health rights and socio-economic factors affecting access to healthcare.
